SAN RAFAEL, California — May 23, 2026 — The San Rafael Pacifics used a huge offensive night to defeat the Austin Weirdos 18-2.

The game was tied 1-1 after two innings, but San Rafael took control with three runs in the third and three more in the fourth. The Pacifics broke the game open with six runs in the sixth inning and added four more in the seventh.

John Bicos led San Rafael, going 4-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs. Aki Buckson also had a big game, finishing 4-for-6 with two doubles, two RBIs, and three runs scored. Alex Merchant added three hits and two RBIs, while Gino Hutchinson, Jake Dent, and Miles Bergman each drove in two runs.

Austin’s offense was led by Cesar Ortega, who went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and an RBI. Sean Tanaka doubled and drove in the Weirdos’ other run.

Jake Dent set the tone on the mound for San Rafael, allowing just one run on two hits over six innings while striking out five. Richard Kiel followed with a scoreless inning, and Kyle Deering finished the game.

San Rafael finished with 18 runs on 16 hits. Austin scored two runs on five hits.
