Pecos Bills Rally Past Austin Weirdos 15-9

June 8 2024 The Pecos Bills defeated the Austin Weirdos 15-9 at Cyclone Ballpark, overcoming a five-run Austin first inning. The Bills answered with two runs in the second, four in the third and two in the fourth to take an 8-6 lead after four innings.

Pecos broke the game open with a six-run sixth inning and added another run in the eighth. Austin scored once in the sixth and twice in the eighth, but the Bills held on for the victory. Both teams finished with 16 hits and neither committed an error.

Luke Smith led Pecos with five hits in six at-bats, four RBI and one run. Hayden Faunce scored three times and drove in two runs, while Josh Kellogg went 2-for-2 with two walks and two runs. For Austin, Donnell Scott went 4-for-4, and Jalil Marinez had three hits and two RBI. M. Corrales added two hits and three RBI, while Ryan Drag collected three hits and two RBI.

Saul Arias earned the win and save for Pecos after allowing 10 hits and six earned runs in 4.2 innings with one walk and four strikeouts. Dylan Ramirez worked two innings and allowed one earned run while striking out two. Austin starter Reed Carter took the loss after giving up 10 hits and eight runs, seven earned, in four innings with six walks and two strikeouts.
